Why this role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Technology Control Team at a key point in the continued development of Tesco IMS’ technology risk and control environment. The team plays an important role in helping the business identify, assess and manage technology risks, strengthen control effectiveness and provide clear oversight across areas such as access management, change, operational resilience, data governance, third-party risk and audit readiness. As a Technology Control Specialist you’ll work closely with colleagues across Technology, Risk, Control and Audit to help maintain a secure, compliant and well-governed technology environment.

What you’ll be doing
• Support the delivery and ongoing enhancement of the Technology Control Framework, helping to ensure technology risks are clearly identified, assessed, managed and reported.
• Work with Technology, Risk, Control and Audit stakeholders to support control testing, evidence gathering, issue management and regulatory or audit activity.
• Help maintain accurate risk and control documentation, including control inventories, risk assessments, action tracking and management information.
• Identify control gaps, trends and emerging risks, escalating concerns clearly and supporting practical remediation plans with accountable owners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing control outcomes, lessons learned and management information to strengthen the overall technology control environment.
• Build effective working relationships across the three lines of defence, providing clear and professional communication on risks, controls, issues and actions.

What we’re looking for (minimum criteria)
• Experience working in Technology Controls, Technology Risk, IT Audit, IT Governance, Operational Risk or a similar control-focused role.
• Good understanding of technology risks and controls, including areas such as access management, change management, incident management, supplier controls or IT general controls.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review evidence, interpret information and produce accurate, clear and well-structured outputs.
• Confident communicator who can work collaboratively with stakeholders, manage priorities and deliver to agreed timelines.

And if you have any of these, even better
• Experience supporting internal audit, external audit, regulatory reviews or control assurance activity in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of risk and control frameworks, RCSA processes, control testing, issue management or technology governance forums.
• Relevant professional qualification, or working towards one, such as CISA, CRISC or an equivalent risk, audit or technology control qualification.
• Experience using risk, control, workflow or reporting tools to track actions, evidence, issues or management information.

We welcome applications from everyone. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.

What’s in it for you
• A generous pension, with up to 7.5% employer contribution, depending on what you put in.
• Private Medical Insurance (WL2+) and virtual GP Service for you and your family.
• Performance related annual bonus.
• 7.2 weeks holiday, with the opportunity to buy more.
• Colleague Clubcard discount (10-15% + second card to share with someone else).
• Enhanced parental leave.
• Opportunities to Save and Buy as you earn.
• A place to get on - take advantage of our ongoing learning opportunities to help you achieve the job and career you want.
