Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to an office, 2 days per week for this position.

We’re looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our Insurance Money and Services team.

The Commercial Analyst plays a critical role in driving data led decision making across the motor insurance business. This role supports key forecasting, reporting, and analytical processes, ensuring stakeholders are equipped with timely insights to optimise commercial performance and support both tactical trading activity and long term strategic planning.

You’ll be working alongside our wider Insurance teams and Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager within the Motor Team.

What you’ll be doing
Performance Analysis & Opportunity Identification
• Conduct deep dive performance analyses to identify data driven opportunities that enhance commercial outcomes.
• Clearly communicate findings to cross functional teams, influencing trading and planning priorities through evidence based insight.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Insight
• Lead the preparation of inputs for the budgeting and forecasting cycle, ensuring all assumptions are robust and evidence based.
• Provide detailed insight comparing current forecasts against prior projections, highlighting drivers of variance and implications for commercial performance.

Trading Insight & Reporting
• Lead the production of regular trading and commercial reports, ensuring high quality narrative and clarity of key messages.

Business Case Development
• Lead the creation of business cases across both tactical trading initiatives and longer term strategic priorities.
• Ensure business cases are underpinned by robust analysis, scenario modelling, and clear articulation of expected benefits and risks.

Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs)
• Undertake PIRs for recently delivered initiatives, summarising performance outcomes against expectations.
• Identify and present opportunities for optimisation to support continuous improvement in commercial execution.

We need you to have
• Commercial acumen & knowledge of the General Insurance Market (Preferably Motor Insurance) – understanding the business environment and objectives to develop solutions without supervision & confidence with making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
• Ability to work efficiently within Microsoft Office Applications including Excel & PowerPoint to create relevant and effective reports using various data sources, analysing data trends to help guide decision making.
• Experience in Trade and Performance management & Annual Planning Process preferably within General Insurance Products
• Experience working with data to drive insight led recommendations making including market research and analysis.
• Understanding of Risk and Controls management within a regulated industry and demonstrate ability to deliver customer centric solutions
