Location – Edinburgh, Permanent, blended working.
Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid. However, you should be able to work from your nearest IMS office 2-3 days per week for this position. Occasional travel to other Tesco offices may also be required.

Opportunity

We’re looking for a Portfolio Delivery Lead to join our Transformation & Agile Practices team. The exciting new role will report to the Head of Transformation and plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing our transformation agenda.
This role will oversee the mobilisation and delivery of our Transformation Roadmap, ensuring strategic alignment, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement.



What you’ll be doing


  • Collaborate with the Head of Transformation and c-suite leaders, to co-create, prioritise and evolve the strategic transformation roadmap.
  • Translate strategic objectives into executable programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
  • Provide line management, mentorship, and professional development support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation. Leading programme-level engagement strategies and big room planning, to ensure stakeholder needs are understood, managed, and met.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of transformation programmes using appropriate methodologies.
  • Allocate resources across projects to optimise delivery and balance capacity.
  • Manage programme-level budgets, forecasts, and resource utilisation to ensure value for money.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in programme delivery and transformation practices.
  • Work with Enterprise Change PMO, audit, risk, and third parties to validate programme health and delivery confidence.
  • Act on assurance findings to strengthen programme governance and execution.
  • Proactively manage programme-level risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Lead executive level stakeholder consultation and information gathering to shape programme scope and outcomes.
  • Ensure programme activities comply with organisational policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Monitor behaviours and performance to identify and resolve non-compliance within the programme team.


We need you to have


  • Substantial experience delivering transformational programmes of work in a related industry.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role and working with and influencing a diverse range of senior and c-level stakeholders.
  • Experience working with external partners, technologies, and tools, demonstrating ability to deliver new functionality / capability according to programme outcomes.
  • Strong ability to communicate analysis, insights, and outcomes to a range of audiences across the business.
  • Understanding of business objectives and ability to align plans to these.
  • A focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to drive programme delivery


And if you have any of these, even better

  • Previous Financial Services experience.
  • Insurance and/or Money Services experience.
  • Experience working in an agile change environment.
