Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Data & Insight Analyst to join our growing Payments team in Glasgow / Edinburgh Office.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for bringing together data from a variety of sources to deliver meaningful business stories on how our customers choose to pay and the performance of our payments ecosystem.

Collaborating closely with other teams, you’ll analyse datasets to surface insights and opportunities for improvement to drive a best-in-class customer experience and strong commercial outcomes.

You’ll be joining at an exciting stage as we build a new, modern payments ecosystem for Tesco Insurance & Money Services. Working within a collaborative and data-driven culture, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how insight supports business decisions and customer experience.

  • Data collection and management: Work closely with Product, Operations, Finance, Digital Analytics, and external partners to ensure consistent and accurate data collection across the payment ecosystem.
  • Data integration and manipulation: Identify, import, clean, and structure file-based datasets from payment service providers, website analytics tools, and CRM systems, interpreting and combining them to create a complete picture of payment performance.
  • Data analysis and interpretation: Lead in-depth analysis of payment outcomes and user behaviour to derive actionable insights. Produce ad-hoc analysis to support investigations, inform decision-making, and identify high-impact growth opportunities
  • Reporting and visualisation: Develop and maintain payment dashboards and performance scorecards covering all payment channels, defining and monitoring key performance indicators. Use data visualisation tools to present complex data in an understandable and accessible manner.
  • Operational growth and development: Support the continuous development of our data processes, analysis methodology, and use of tools and technology in a fast-paced industry, whilst adhering to data security and customer privacy.

We need you to have

  • Data Analytics or Insight experience, within payments, e-commerce, or financial services.
  • Experience interpreting, merging, and analysing data from multiple, unconnected systems.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate analysis and insights to a range of audiences across the business.
  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Strong commercial acumen, demonstrating a sound understanding of business objectives and ability to align plans to these.
  • Familiarity with website analytics tools and customer journey measurement. (Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics)
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced organisation, prioritising individual and team backlogs on activity that add the most value.

And if you have these, even better

  • Experience with payment service providers and associated data and reporting.
  • Previous experience in the Insurance or wider financial services sector, or experience within subscription-based e-commerce.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, and/or R to manipulate and visualise data
  • Familiarity with data pipelines/ETL tools, automated reporting, APIs
